Area Clinical Lead - Shape Clinical Leadership Across Scotland

We are excited to be launching a new opportunity to join our network of Area Clinical Leads (ACLs) — a key clinical leadership role focused on strengthening clinician engagement, driving high-quality patient care, and delivering strong, sustainable performance across a defined business area.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a visible clinical leadership role, working in partnership with operational leaders to influence outcomes, support your peers, and help shape the future of clinical delivery.

About The Role

As an employed Area Clinical Lead, you will provide proactive, visible clinical leadership across Scotland, working closely with operational and clinical leadership teams to drive clinical performance and consistency across practices.

This role requires a commitment of 2 days per week, with regular travel across your defined geography and protected time to focus on clinical leadership activity alongside your ongoing clinical practice. In addition, you will be required to be a self-employed practising clinician, a minimum of 1 day per week in one of our Scottish Practices.

You Will

  • Build strong relationships with clinicians, acting as a trusted and visible clinical leader
  • Coach, mentor and support clinician development, capability and retention
  • Use clinical and performance data to identify trends and drive improvements in productivity, patient outcomes and overall performance
  • Support and constructively challenge clinicians through performance and quality conversations, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved
  • Act as a first point of contact for clinical queries and escalations, supporting timely resolution
  • Promote learning from incidents and embed best practice across your area
  • Contribute to recruitment, workforce planning and retention strategies
  • Strengthen collaboration between clinical and operational teams, taking a joined-up approach to delivering results
  • Play a key role in embedding change and new ways of working, ensuring initiatives are understood, adopted and deliver impact in practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
