Area Employment Advisor (At risk and internal employees only)

Sandwell Council is looking to recruit an Area Employment Advisor

To provide an efficient, professional client focused employment service to unemployed residents of Sandwell. Target groups may include, 16 – 24-year-olds, young people leaving care, people with disabilities and mental health conditions and those for disadvantaged groups.

To work with clients to ensure they are “work ready” and sufficiently skilled to take up the opportunities available.

To secure employment opportunities for clients of all ages through a range of activities including active engagement with employers.

To work with employers as required promoting council services that support business growth.

Essential Requirements

• Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Level 3 or equivalent.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in working with adults and young people (including NEETS) from a variety of backgrounds offering support and guidance.
• A minimum of two years’ experience of recruitment, engaging with employers and building close working relationships.
• Experience of networking and partnership working across a wide sector of organisations.
