Area General Manager - Portfolio in London
We are recruiting for an experienced Area General Manager to join a leading facilities management provider, overseeing a prestigious and diverse multi-site property portfolio. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for operational performance, financial management, client relationships, and service delivery across a high-profile estate.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, with proven experience managing complex contracts, leading operational teams, and driving commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Hard and Soft FM services across a multi-site property portfolio.
- Lead and develop Contract Managers, Facilities Managers, and operational teams.
- Take responsibility for regional P&L, budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual KPIs, SLAs, and service delivery standards are consistently achieved.
- Drive operational efficiencies, continuous improvement, and commercial growth.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Manage subcontractor performance, procurement, and service delivery standards.
- Support contract retention, mobilisation, and additional business opportunities.
- Provide strategic leadership across the portfolio, ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience.

Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Area General Manager, Regional Manager, Account Director, or Senior Contract Manager within facilities management.
- Strong background in Total Facilities Management, covering Hard and Soft Services.
- Experience overseeing large, complex, multi-site property portfolios.
- Demonstrable P&L ownership and commercial management experience.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health and safety, and FM operational standards.
- Experience managing senior operational teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Previous experience across public-sector, commercial property, or prestigious estate portfolios would be advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
