Role Overview
As an Area Kitchen Manager, you will be primarily based at the Leicester Arms while also supporting kitchens across the wider area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced kitchen leader who is passionate about developing people, improving standards and helping multiple kitchen teams succeed.
Job Description
As an Area Kitchen Manager, you’ll take responsibility for leading the kitchen operation at the Leicester Arms while also providing hands-on support to kitchen teams across the area.
- Work closely with General Managers, kitchen leaders and the wider operations team to maintain high standards, develop kitchen capability and support the recruitment, onboarding and training of kitchen teams.
- Help identify development opportunities, coach kitchen colleagues and support other pubs when additional operational guidance is required.
Qualifications
As an Area Kitchen Manager, you will…
- Lead the kitchen operation at the Leicester Arms, ensuring every service runs smoothly and consistently.
- Support kitchen teams across the area with training, coaching and operational guidance.
- Help recruit, onboard and develop kitchen colleagues, building strong and capable teams.
- Work closely with General Managers and kitchen leaders to identify skills gaps and development opportunities.
- Deliver practical training to improve food quality, kitchen organisation, productivity and team performance.
- Support new kitchen managers and chefs as they settle into their roles.
- Step into other pubs across the area when additional kitchen leadership or operational support is required.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure high-quality meals are delivered to customers on time.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Ensure allergen procedures, food safety regulations and company policies are consistently followed.
- Share best practice across the area and introduce new ways of working that help kitchen teams perform more effectively.
- Lead by example, creating a positive, supportive and inclusive working environment.
- Analyse stock performance across the area to identify cost and wastage saving as well as delivering new menu roll outs.

What you’ll bring to the kitchen:
- Experience managing a busy, high-volume kitchen as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or in a similar senior kitchen leadership position.
- A strong track record of training, coaching and developing kitchen teams.
- Confidence supporting multiple kitchen operations or working across different venues.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding and retaining kitchen colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise between your home pub and the wider needs of the area.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with General Managers, kitchen leaders and operational stakeholders.
- A keen eye for delivering tasty, consistent and well-presented meals to customers.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and help teams overcome operational challenges.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens, kitchen compliance and health and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to travel between pubs within the area when required.
- Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely, deliver training and understand allergen controls.
