Area Manager – Central London
£50,000 basic salary + performance-related bonus
We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to lead the operational performance of seven busy food-led sites across central London, with additional oversight of an eighth location supported by an existing multi-site manager.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be the key link between the central support team and the sites, ensuring that company standards, operational processes and expectations are translated into consistently strong day-to-day execution.
This is a hands-on Area Manager role for someone who understands fast-paced food operations, enjoys being close to the detail and has a proven track record of developing managers and improving site performance.
The Role
You will take ownership of the performance of your area, working closely with Site Managers to ensure high standards across people, service, operations and commercial performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the operational performance of seven sites, with additional oversight of an eighth location.
- Spending time across the sites to understand the operation, people, performance and challenges.
- Coaching, developing and challenging Site Managers to strengthen their leadership and operational capability.
- Ensuring company standards, procedures and processes are consistently delivered.
- Identifying operational gaps and working with managers to implement practical solutions.
- Adapting your leadership approach to different managers, teams and locations.
- Acting as the key communication link between the sites, central support teams and the Operations Director.
- Providing clear feedback and practical operational insight to senior leadership.
- Taking ownership of issues and ensuring actions are followed through to resolution.
- Supporting the implementation of new processes, projects and operational initiatives.
- Balancing strategic priorities with the realities of fast-paced frontline operations.

The Background We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in food-led, high-volume, customer-facing environments, including:
- QSR / Quick Service Restaurants
- Grab-and-go food
- Food-to-go
- Hospitality
- Food retail
- Fast-casual or similar food operations
You will ideally have:
- Significant experience managing multiple locations or a sizeable operational area.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing multiple Site, Store or General Managers.
- A strong understanding of food operations, service standards, labour planning, team performance and day-to-day site execution.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where customer experience and operational consistency are critical.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to adapt your management style to different managers, teams and locations.
- Evidence of career progression and increasing responsibility.
- A stable employment history and a record of progression within previous organisations.
- Experience in a small to medium-sized food business or another environment where leaders are expected to stay close to the operation and personally drive execution.

The Leadership Style
We're looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting into the operation.
- You won't be someone who manages purely from reports and spreadsheets.
- You'll be visible across the sites, understand what is happening on the ground, build strong relationships with teams and use that knowledge to improve performance.
- You'll know that different managers and locations need different levels of support, challenge and coaching.
- You will be confident adapting your leadership style while maintaining clear standards and accountability.
