Area Manager - Northwest London

Salary: £43,260 per annum
Location: North London
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

About Schools Plus

At Schools Plus, we partner with schools to maximise the use of their facilities outside of school hours, creating valuable revenue streams that support education and local communities. Operating across multiple sites nationwide, we deliver professional lettings management services that connect schools with a diverse range of community groups, sports clubs and organisations.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, commercially focused and people-oriented Area Manager to lead a portfolio of schools across North London.

The Opportunity

This is a varied and rewarding leadership role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You will be responsible for driving performance across multiple sites, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and health & safety, and developing high-performing teams.

Working closely with Team Leaders, Site Supervisors and school stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting business growth while ensuring that every site operates safely, efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and support a portfolio of school sites across North London.
  • Ensure consistent operational standards across all locations.
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits to maintain service excellence.
  • Manage and resolve operational challenges in a proactive and professional manner.

Commercial Performance

  • Take ownership of site performance against revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify opportunities to grow bookings and maximise facility utilisation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvement plans where required.
  • Support the delivery of regional and company-wide business objectives.

People Management

  • Recruit, develop and lead high-performing site teams.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and performance management where necessary.
  • Foster a positive culture focused on accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning and staff development initiatives.

Customer & Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build strong relationships with school representatives, hirers and community partners.
  • Ensure customers receive an outstanding experience from enquiry through to booking delivery.
  • Manage escalated customer issues and complaints effectively.
  • Act as a trusted representative of Schools Plus at all times.

Compliance & Health & Safety

  • Ensure all sites operate in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, security and health & safety compliance.
  • Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments as required.
  • Support the implementation of company-wide compliance initiatives and best practice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced manager with a proven track record of leading multiple sites, locations or teams.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in multi-site operational management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A commercial mindset with experience of managing budgets, revenue or performance targets.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and compliance requirements.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
