About Giffard

Giffard is a family-owned French company since 1885, known for producing premium-quality syrups and Liquors. With over 100 syrup Flavors and 70 liquors, our products are trusted by leading bars, restaurants, cafés, and hotels across 100+ countries. As part of our continued international expansion, we are strengthening our Northern Europe business and are looking for a commercially driven Area Manager to lead growth across the region.

Position Overview

We are looking for an Area Manager – Northern Europe to support the commercial development of the region with a strong focus on distributor management, market execution, and business development. This is a field-based regional role, responsible for supporting performance across multiple countries in Northern Europe, with frequent travel and proximity to key markets. You will report to the Director International - On-trade and work closely with distributors, hospitality stakeholders, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Development

  • Support commercial growth across Northern European market with the support of distributors’ sales representatives.
  • Contribute to annual sales targets and ensure execution in priority markets.
  • Support implementation of pricing and commercial policies.
  • Negotiate with distributors and selected key accounts.
  • Meet end-users to foster loyalty.

Distributor Management & Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors across Northern Europe:
  • Train their sales representatives to become Brand Ambassadors.
  • Work with end-users: barmen.
  • Monitor distributor performance and support action plans where needed.
  • Ensure execution standards and commercial discipline at distributor level.

Market Expansion

  • Support identification of new market opportunities.
  • Participate in the onboarding of new distribution partners.
  • Contribute to developing Giffard's presence in bars, coffee shops, hotels, and premium venues.

Brand Execution

  • Implement trade marketing initiatives with distributors.
  • Support activations, trainings, and customer visits.
  • Ensure consistency of brand execution across priority markets.

Forecasting, Supply & Stock Management

  • Consolidate accurate forecasts with distributors.
  • Monitor stock situations and support corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly market updates, KPIs, and market intelligence.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Based in Northern Europe (preferably UK).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in FMCG, beverage, or spirits industries.
  • Experience working with distributors in Northern Europe.
  • Strong commercial mindset and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the region.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in beverages, coffee, spirits, or hospitality.
  • Existing network within the on-trade sector.
  • French is a plus.
  • Experience supporting market development in emerging markets.
