B Bagel is a growing business with a vision to be the UK’s leading bagel brand.
Our mission is to bring the contemporary celebration of bagels to London, driven by our core values of quality, generosity, people, and good vibes.
Role: Area Manager
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the B Bagel operations across a few of our bagel shops. This role will involve ensuring that each location maintains the highest standards of quality, customer service, and operational efficiency. As an Area Manager, you will work closely with store managers to drive growth, enhance team performance, and promote a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with our brand core values.
Duties
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations across multiple shop locations, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Spend time in area’s sites to monitor and maintain consistency in food quality, cleanliness, and service standards.
- Coach shop managers and teams to financial success and work with the teams when needed.
- Optimize inventory management and ensure accurate stock levels to minimize waste and improve profitability.
- Manage P&L statements and drive cost-control initiatives to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Ensure that each site is well maintained at all times and on-brand, quickly fixing issues that arise throughout the course of business.
- Act as first point of contact, promptly assisting in resolving any issues that arise.
- Coordinate team members between sites where necessary, ensuring all stores are covered with enough people on shift so operations run smoothly.

Team Leadership and Development
- Mentor store managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and team empowerment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set measurable goals, and create development plans for store teams.
- Lead by example in all areas - customer service, instilling a customer-focused mindset across teams, attention to detail, communication, etc.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to share updates, review objectives, and address any operational concerns.
- Lead monthly and weekly meetings with store management.
- Support managers in any HR-related issues, conduct mediation meetings where necessary, and lead the investigations.
Sales and Customer Service
- Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring all locations deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable service.
- Analyze sales trends to identify growth opportunities, including seasonal promotions and community events.
- Collaborate with marketing to enhance local store visibility and customer engagement.
- Handle escalated customer complaints, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.

Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all stores adhere to food safety, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any compliance issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
About You
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in retail or food service management, with at least 2 years in a multi-unit supervisory/management role.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of P&L management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Personal qualities: Flexible and adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills and the emotional intelligence to understand others' perspectives and handle sensitive situations with empathy.
