Area Manager | Charity Retail | Multi-Site | London | £45,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Are you an experienced Area Manager or multi-site Retail Manager looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference?

We're working with a well-established charity that is going through an exciting period of change and growth across its retail operation. They are looking for an Area Manager to join the team and play a key role in improving commercial performance, developing people and raising standards across a group of shops.

This is a role for someone who understands retail first and foremost, but is also motivated by working in a purpose-led environment.

The role

You'll work closely with Shop Managers across your area, taking ownership of their performance and supporting them to deliver stronger commercial and operational results.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing Shop Managers, creating clear expectations and accountability.
  • Driving sales, Gift Aid, profitability and overall contribution across the area.
  • Looking at performance data and quickly identifying commercial opportunities, from stock and pricing through to merchandising, space and customer experience.
  • Being highly visible across the shops and building strong relationships with your teams and volunteers.
  • Raising operational and visual standards, ensuring shops feel well-presented, cared for and commercially focused.
  • Supporting managers to take ownership of their own shops, giving them the tools and confidence to succeed rather than simply stepping in and doing it for them.
  • Building a strong volunteering culture and supporting managers to recruit, develop and retain volunteers.
  • Supporting recruitment and succession planning, with the opportunity to build a strong network and develop talent across the area.
  • Ensuring shops operate safely, effectively and in line with the required policies and standards.
  • Working closely with the Head of Retail to deliver the wider Retail Strategy and support the ongoing transformation of the retail operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
