Area Manager (Retail)
Location: Covering Edinburgh & Lothians with regular travel across the area. Head office is based in Lochore, Fife.
Salary: £42,888 plus car allowance (£2,000), bonus & benefits.

Bayne’s the Family Bakers is looking for an outstanding Area Manager to lead our shops across Edinburgh & Lothians. This is a key leadership role for a hands-on retail operator who loves developing people, improving shop performance and delivering a great customer experience every day.
What You'll Do
- Lead commercial performance - Understand what drives sales, customer numbers, labour, waste and contribution in each shop. Focus your time where it makes the biggest difference and look for ways to grow sales and customer numbers across the area.
- Ensure great shops for customers - See shops through the customer’s eyes. Drive standards, service and availability every day.
- Develop strong Shop Managers - Coach managers to run their shops confidently and independently. Every visit should leave them more capable than before.
- Build a strong area team - Manage performance, identify talent and plan succession so the area is always ready for growth.
- Deliver continuous improvement - Make sure agreed activity lands properly and on time. Fix root causes, not symptoms, and share best practice across the wider business.

What Success Looks Like
- Strong sales, customer numbers and contribution
- High customer feedback scores and reduced complaint themes
- Capable, confident Shop Managers
- Good succession depth and colleague development
- New shops and major changes delivered smoothly and on time
What You Bring
- Proven retail leadership experience with measurable performance improvement across multiple sites, preferably within a food-to-go environment
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Commercial confidence with ability to interpret data and act on it
- A practical, common-sense approach with good attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise across multiple sites
- Great judgement about customers and local trade
- Strong communication skills and solid IT capability (MS Office)
- Full driving licence and access to your own car
