The company provides a comprehensive range of services, including contract cleaning, washroom and hygiene supplies, waste management, pest control, specialist cleaning, and grounds maintenance. Glenn Cleaning & Support Services partners closely with clients to design bespoke service packages that meet the specific needs of offices, factories, retail premises, schools, hospitals, and other public buildings. With rigorous standards of cleanliness and hygiene and a strong focus on customer care, the business has built lasting relationships across sectors such as medical, education, hospitality and leisure, retail, manufacturing, and distribution.

Role Description

The Area Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing cleaning and support service operations across an assigned geographic area. This role includes:

The Area Manager will conduct regular virtual and on-site inspections, address client queries, and support account retention and growth through responsive, professional service. Day-to-day tasks involve:

  • Resource planning
  • Performance monitoring
  • Reporting on service delivery
  • Collaborating with senior management to implement operational improvements

The Area Manager also supports staff training, adherence to health and safety procedures, and continuous enhancement of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operations or facilities management, ideally within cleaning or support services, with strong skills in coordinating multi-site service delivery.
  • People management skills, including team leadership, performance monitoring, coaching, and supporting staff development.
  • Customer relationship and account management skills, with the ability to build trust, respond to issues promptly, and maintain high service standards.
  • Organizational and time management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for remote work (email, spreadsheets, scheduling and reporting systems) and comfort conducting virtual meetings.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards relevant to cleaning services across sectors such as medical, education, retail, and hospitality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and a professional approach to client and team interactions.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, travel to client sites as required, and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or area manager role and a valid driver’s license are beneficial.
