Company Description
The branches within this region are Bolton, Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, Wednesbury, Northampton, Hereford and Carmarthen. Whilst a central location would be ideal we would welcome applications from candidates from across the region.
At JDP, we are the experts in civils drainage and water management. For over half a century we’ve been combining quality products, knowledgeable staff, dedicated delivery, a national branch network and technical assistance to be the one-stop shop for our customers. We continue to experience remarkable growth and stability and this is thanks to our unwavering commitment to excellent customer service and robust business strategy. Following fantastic record breaking results over the last couple of years we continue to go from strength to strength. Now is the time to become as passionate about pipework as we are. Our people are at the heart of our operations and we pride ourselves on being a great company to work for!
Job Description
Lead Growth. Develop People. Shape the Future.
As civils and drainage merchants, we are continuing our ambitious growth journey and are looking to appoint an experienced Regional Operations Manager to help drive performance, develop our branch network and support our long-term strategic plans.
This is not a traditional operational management role focused on day-to-day branch administration. Instead, you will act as a commercial coach, mentor and leader for approximately seven branches, empowering Branch Managers to take ownership of their businesses while providing the support, challenge and direction needed to achieve outstanding results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
