We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Operations Manager to join our Depot Leadership Team in the East Region, supporting our key sites in Normanton, Lutterworth, Sheffield and Peterborough

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll make a real impact across multiple sites. As an Area Operations Manager we are looking for someone who can deputise for the Area Manager, so it is essential you have strong leadership skills and can make decisions on their behalf. You will be responsible for the Cost, Quality and service of the operation, whilst providing clear and direct leadership.
As our Area Operations Manager, you’ll:
- Lead and support depot Transport and Compliance Managers across your area.
- Be the go-to transport expert, driving continuous improvement and upskilling your team.
- Deputise for the Area Manager, making confident decisions and keeping operations running smoothly.
- Champion health and safety through our Go Home Safe culture.
- Use data and insights to improve cost, quality, and service performance.
- Inspire and develop your team, building a strong pipeline of future talent.

- A confident leader with experience managing remote teams and multi-site operations.
- CPC qualified (or working towards it – we’ll support you!).
- Skilled in transport compliance, health & safety (NEBOSH is a plus), and operational excellence.
- A great communicator who can engage, mentor, and motivate teams.
- Analytical and solutions-focused, with a strong grasp of KPIs, MI, and cost control.
- Comfortable working across shifts and a 24/7 operation.
