Job Introduction
Area Operations Manager
Salary: £55,179.61 per annum + £600 per month car allowance
Location: Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire
Area of Responsibility: Castlemartin, Pembrey, Templeton, Manorbier and Penally
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30, with participation in an on-call rota as required.
Location Requirement: This is a site-based role, with an expectation to be on site five days per week.
Landmarc Support Services are recruiting an Area Operations Manager to lead operations across Castlemartin and surrounding sites. This high-profile leadership role oversees a team of 75 employees, including six direct reports, across a complex multi-site operation delivering Facilities Management and rural estate services.

We're looking for an Area Operations Manager to lead a diverse workforce across multiple sites in Pembrokeshire. This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident and inspirational leader who understands the importance of people, performance and customer service, while bringing strong knowledge of Facilities Management operations.
You'll be responsible for creating an environment where people can perform at their best, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and consistently through effective leadership and collaboration.
The Role
As Area Operations Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to managers and frontline colleagues, ensuring operational objectives are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on employee engagement, development and wellbeing.
You will balance the day-to-day demands of service delivery with longer-term strategic goals, driving continuous improvement and building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of 75 employees across multiple operational locations.
- Build a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture where colleagues feel empowered to succeed.
- Coach and support managers to strengthen leadership capability and drive accountability.
- Drive operational performance through effective people management, planning and resource allocation.
- Ensure the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of Facilities Management services.
- Oversee both hard and soft FM service provision, ensuring high standards are maintained.
- Manage budgets, performance measures, KPIs and service delivery targets.
- Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and colleagues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead operational change initiatives.
- Ensure all contractual, statutory and health and safety requirements are met.
- Act as deputy for the Regional Operations Manager when required.

About You
We're looking for a passionate and credible leader who enjoys developing people and achieving results through others.
You'll be an excellent communicator, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels, and able to balance operational priorities with the needs of your team.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience leading large teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A strong track record of managing through managers and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent people management skills, including coaching, performance management and employee engagement.
- Good knowledge of both hard and soft Facilities Management services.
- Experience managing operations across multiple sites or locations.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and performance monitoring.
- Experience delivering against KPIs, service levels and operational objectives.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities and lead teams through change positively.
- Experience working in a highly regulated, safety-focused environment would be advantageous.
