We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Area Premier Director.

As an Area Premier Relationship Manager, you’ll lead and develop a team of Premier Relationship Managers and Premier Relationship Directors, driving the performance of Premier across your designated area. Working closely with Regulated Area Wealth Managers and key stakeholders, you’ll deliver local wealth management strategies, exceptional customer service and sustainable business growth, while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and risk management. You’ll play a central role in expanding HSBC UK’s Premier customer base and supporting our ambition to double it by 2028—putting customers at the heart of everything we do. The role combines inspirational leadership, strategic planning, client relationship management, business development and collaborative stakeholder engagement, and requires a strong understanding of Premier management products and services, alongside the ability to deliver growth in the right way: engaging, efficient and sustainable.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the execution of the Global Wealth and Personal Banking strategy within the area, supporting HSBC’s ambition to be the Bank of Choice and driving sustainable growth in the Premier customer base.
  • Develop and implement local strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, deepen relationships and improve retention, while acting as an escalation point for significant customer issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Set clear objectives, manage performance proactively and ensure individual and team goals align with HSBC’s strategic priorities, customer outcomes and business objectives.
  • Maintain accountability for the team’s compliance, regulatory supervision and technical capability, ensuring consistently high standards of service quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of Premier Relationship Managers and Premier Relationship Directors, ensuring the team has the skills and expertise to deliver strong business and customer outcomes.
  • Motivate, coach and support Premier and High Net Worth Relationship Managers to build strong, lasting customer relationships and achieve sustainable growth across their client portfolios.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Wealth and Personal Banking, including Customer Proposition, International and Wealth teams, to deliver an integrated service and a first-class Premier proposition.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of retail banking products, services and systems, with a good understanding of wealth management propositions and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • QCF Level 4 Financial Planning qualification is desirable, or equivalent relevant financial planning experience.
  • Proven line management experience, with the ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business priorities into effective local plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
