An Area Project Lead is required in Cambridgeshire to lead a team of Project Managers delivering construction and facilities management projects across a complex estate.

This senior position requires an experienced end-to-end project professional who can take ownership from initial brief and procurement through construction to handover, while managing commercial performance, safety, supply chain delivery and senior stakeholder relationships.

The Role

As The Area Project Lead, You'll

  • Lead, support and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers.
  • Oversee multiple projects from initial brief and procurement through construction and handover.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to contractual requirements.
  • Manage the area budget, P&L, commercial risks and supply chain performance.
  • Build effective relationships with senior customers, operational teams and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong project governance and compliance with CDM, asbestos and health and safety requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, consistency, quality and commercial performance.

About You

To be successful as the Area Project Lead, you'll have:

  • Substantial end-to-end construction, engineering or facilities management project experience.
  • Proven experience leading Project Managers or operating at senior level within a large project team.
  • Strong experience managing projects through briefing, procurement, construction and final handover.
  • An HNC or equivalent in Building, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Project management training such as PRINCE2 or APM, alongside IOSH or equivalent.
  • Strong commercial awareness across budgets, P&L, programmes, risks and supply chains.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.

Defence-sector experience, Chartered status, NEBOSH, SMSTS or relevant professional membership would be advantageous.
