Area Sales Manager – Peterborough, Northampton, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedford, Cambridge, Norfolk & Suffolk

The Role of Area Sales Manager

This is a field/home-based role, covering a large territory across the East of England.
You will represent and sell a high-quality range of specialist outdoor recreational and amenity products into Local Authorities, House Builders, Developers and other commercial organisations.

The role is a mixture of account management, project-led sales and business development.
You will be responsible for identifying and developing new projects, often engaging with customers at an early stage to understand requirements, influence specifications and develop opportunities through to order.
You will build relationships with a range of stakeholders including Local Authorities, Developers, House Builders, Contractors and other organisations involved in the development and enhancement of outdoor environments.
You will be supported by an experienced Field Sales Manager, who will provide ongoing guidance, product training and development.
You will use your relationship-building, commercial and organisational skills to develop the region and grow revenue across your territory.
You will have responsibility for managing your own pipeline, identifying new opportunities and developing existing accounts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
