Area Sales Manager

We're looking for an Area Sales Manager to strengthen our sales team in the South of the UK. In this role, you will be responsible for achieving sales and performance targets set by the company by planning effective sales visits and calls to existing customers and new prospects. In addition, you work closely with all internal and external colleagues, in order to maximize profitable business growth.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Maintenance and further development of the commercial contacts with existing customers in order to maximize profitable business growth.
  • Active sales in the products you are responsible for (parts for forklifts, access platforms, small earthmoving equipment) in order to stimulate the sales and realize the set turnover.
  • Contacting and mapping new customers (suspects and prospects), in order to further develop the customer portfolio within the defined sales objectives.
  • Detecting and informing about opportunities at (new) customers.
  • Preparation and planning of the customer visits in order to be able to use the available time as efficiently and optimally as possible and in this way manage the customer database as efficiently as possible.
  • Responsibility for the creation of qualitative reports, in order to be able to guarantee a good follow-up of the customer contacts.
  • Updating and maintaining product knowledge in order to optimize the service towards the customers.

How to succeed / your profile

  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience, preferably in a relevant sector
  • You will ideally live in Wales or the South West of the UK as this will be the region in your scope
  • A strong customer orientation
  • Sense of initiative
  • Team player
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products or their equivalents
  • Fluent in English
