Job Opportunity: Specification Salesperson/Area Sales Manager
Due to growth, our client, who is a market leading manufacturer and supplier of Flat Roofing solutions, is looking to hire a Specification Salesperson/Area Sales Manager to cover the Greater Manchester and Stockport area, winning new build commercial projects. If you have sold a technical construction product/building envelope solution, or roofing solution to Architects, Specifiers, Local Authorities, surveyors, main contractors, and approved roofing contractors, and you’d like to know more, then read below and apply ASAP.
The Role
As an Area Sales Manager/Specification Sales Manager, your role is to sell the company's manufactured range of specialist flat roofing solutions. This is a field/home-based role covering the Greater Manchester and Stockport area.
Responsibilities
- Selling into a mix of Architects, Specifiers, End Users/Building Owners, Local Authorities, surveyors, Main Contractors, and Approved Roofing Contractors.
- Winning new build projects in commercial, residential, retail, and leisure sectors, such as schools, housing, leisure centres, retail parks, factories, manufacturing plants, commercial offices, etc.
- New business/specification-focused.
- Utilising the Company database to glean information.
- Preparing and delivering CPD seminars/presentations.
- Liaising with the Marketing Department, external telesales, and internal teams.
- Liaising with the Technical Department – Technicians and Administrators to resolve technical queries and the progression of detail drawings.

The Successful Candidate
- Proven track record of success within construction field sales.
- Sold a relevant product, roofing would be great, but building envelope products are ideal. Although one of their best salespeople had sold kitchens to the construction industry.
- Living within a maximum of 1 hour's commute from the centre of Manchester.
- Ideally have sold to Architects, Specifiers, Local Authorities, surveyors, and Contractors.
- Strong presentation skills.
- A genuine people person/relationship builder.

The Remuneration
- Up to £55k basic, £80K/£90K OTE for top performers.
