Job Description

This is a field-based sales role with a genuine territory to own and real scope to grow it. A well-established specialist in professional outdoor machinery and equipment, working with premium brands and a loyal customer base across a defined region, is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to help drive the sales division forward.

Location

With offices in East Riding, this role is commutable from Hull, York, Doncaster, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Scarborough, Bridlington and Beverley. You will be field based, covering a defined territory across East Riding and the North Yorkshire coastline.

What you'll be doing...

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of commercial customers including leisure venues, sports facilities and professional contractors.
  • Identifying new business through proactive lead generation, while keeping the pipeline and CRM accurate and up to date.
  • Conducting product demonstrations and site visits to assess customer needs and recommend the right machinery solutions from a strong range of premium brands.
  • Preparing quotes, proposals and finance packages; working closely with service and parts teams to ensure excellent aftersales support.
  • Representing the business at trade shows, open days and manufacturer events, staying sharp on competitor activity and market developments.

What you need to bring...

  • Proven experience in field-based equipment or machinery sales, ideally in a commercial or specialist sector.
  • A track record of hitting sales targets and growing a territory, with the drive and commercial awareness to work autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build genuine rapport with customers and represent a business with confidence.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across a defined territory.
