Area Sales Manager

Location: South East England (OX, PO, CR, TN & ME postcode territories)
Salary: £35,000 basic + 30% company bonus + Company Car

The Opportunity

A truly exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, FMCG specialist to join a leading distributor of business. This field-based role is responsible for managing and developing an established portfolio of wholesale customers across the OX, PO, CR, TN and ME postcode & surrounding areas. You'll work with an existing customer base, building strong relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring customers maximise sales and profitability through effective category management, promotional activity and commercial support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an established portfolio of wholesale accounts.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales, distribution and product visibility.
  • Deliver commercial plans and agreed business objectives.
  • Negotiate promotional activity and support customers with category growth.
  • Monitor market activity and competitor performance.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer service.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous field sales or account management experience within FMCG, wholesale or convenience retail.
  • A proven track record of growing existing customer accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify sales opportunities.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
