Area Sales Manager | Leading UK Manufacturer Open to Developing the Right Individual

Area: Kent, East Sussex, South Essex

The Opportunity

Rare opportunity to join a leading UK manufacturer in a field-based Area Sales Manager role covering the North West.

  • This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and relationship-focused individual to build a long-term career in field sales.
  • The client is open to candidates from a wide range of sales backgrounds and will provide full product training and ongoing development.
  • You will inherit a well-established territory with strong existing merchant relationships already in place, allowing you to focus on development, growth, and demand generation rather than rebuilding accounts.
  • This is a genuine opportunity to join a business that invests heavily in its people and offers clear progression into senior sales and national account roles.

The Role of Area Sales Manager

  • Field sales account management role covering Kent, East Sussex, South Essex
  • Managing a portfolio of established accounts across Builders Merchants, Plumbing & Heating Merchants
  • Building strong relationships with Branch Managers, Sales Teams, and key decision makers across merchant branches
  • Driving demand with installers, contractors, and sub-contractors across the region
  • Delivering product training, support, and engagement across merchant branches
  • Identifying opportunities to increase product penetration and account spend
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure strong customer support and service levels
  • Maintaining structured journey planning and CRM activity across your territory
  • 80% account management / 20% business development split
  • Focus on growing existing relationships while developing new demand opportunities

The Candidate for the Area Sales Manager

We are keen to speak with ambitious and motivated sales professionals looking to develop their career with a leading manufacturer.

  • Previous sales experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Our client is open to candidates from any sales background who can demonstrate strong communication skills, relationship building ability, and a drive to succeed in a field-based role.

We would particularly welcome applications from:
