Area Sales Manager
Territory: Cambridge / Northampton / Luton / Norfolk / Sheffield
Salary: £45,000 + Performance-Related Bonus + Company Vehicle
Contract: Full-time, Field-Based
The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to take ownership of a significant territory and drive sustainable revenue growth across the region.
This is a field-based sales role focused on identifying and winning new business, developing existing customer relationships and increasing wallet share across key industrial and construction markets.
You will be responsible for promoting a market-leading range of on-site hydraulic hose replacement and fluid transfer solutions, working closely with local Service Centres to ensure customers receive an exceptional level of service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field sales professional who thrives on winning new business, developing territories and building long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a clear territory sales plan focused on high-value industrial and construction prospects.
- Identify, target and convert new business opportunities across the territory.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, ensuring sufficient coverage against revenue targets.
- Conduct a target of 8 quality face-to-face customer meetings per day.
- Win, onboard and develop key customer accounts.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and wallet share within existing accounts.
- Negotiate pricing within agreed company guidelines.
- Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their requirements and providing appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with local Service Centres to coordinate service delivery and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, territory performance and sales opportunities.
- Monitor market activity and identify new sectors, customers and commercial opportunities.

- New business revenue and gross margin.
- Growth in active customer accounts.
- Average revenue per account.
- Customer retention and satisfaction.
- Win rates across target sectors.
- Average daily customer meetings – target of 8 per day.
- Pipeline coverage and conversion.
- Overall territory revenue growth.
About You:
We are looking for a confident, driven and commercially focused sales professional with a proven track record of developing territories and winning new business.
Ideally, you will have experience selling within one or more of the following sectors:

- Engineering
- Industrial equipment or associated technical products
You will be comfortable working autonomously in a field-based environment and have the drive and organisation required to manage a large territory effectively.
You'll also need:
- A proven track record in field-based B2B sales.
- Strong new business development and account management skills.
- The ability to identify, develop and convert commercial opportunities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent territory planning and pipeline management abilities.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel extensively throughout the territory.
