Area Sales Manager

Warwickshire Territory

£35,000-£37,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission (OTE £80,000+)

Company Car + Laptop + Mobile Phone + Benefits

Are you an experienced B2B field sales professional who enjoys developing valuable customer relationships, growing established accounts and being well rewarded for your results?

Our client is an established, family-run supplier of paper, stationery, workplace products and office furniture. Following continued growth and an internal change of responsibilities, we are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established Leicestershire and Warwickshire territory.

You will inherit a strong portfolio of longstanding customers and key accounts, providing an excellent platform from which to earn commission and grow your territory. Your priority will be to protect and develop these relationships, identify opportunities across other departments and win new customers. With an uncapped gross-profit-based commission scheme, the advertised OTE is both realistic and achievable.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will initially spend time at the company’s Loughborough office, gaining a thorough understanding of its products, systems and customers. You will then work alongside experienced colleagues before taking full responsibility for your territory.

Once established, you will typically spend four days each week visiting customers across Warwickshire and one day at the Loughborough office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing an established portfolio of key customer accounts across Warwickshire.
  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with customers and acting as a knowledgeable commercial partner.
  • Identifying opportunities to supply additional products and services to existing accounts.
  • Developing relationships with new contacts and departments within customer organisations.
  • Prospecting for and converting new business across the territory.
  • Visiting existing and prospective customers to understand their requirements.
  • Recommending appropriate products from an extensive portfolio of workplace supplies, paper and office furniture.
  • Preparing quotations and following up opportunities to secure orders.
  • Re-engaging dormant accounts and identifying opportunities to rebuild relationships.
  • Managing sales opportunities ranging from fast-moving consumables to longer-term furniture and project-based requirements.
  • Monitoring customer activity, market trends and competitor developments.
  • Working closely with internal colleagues to ensure customers receive consistently high levels of service.
  • Achieving and exceeding agreed sales and margin targets.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This position involves responsibility for several important customer accounts and therefore requires an established sales professional. It is not intended as a first step into field sales.

Previous experience within office supplies, furniture, paper or education is not essential. Applications are welcomed from experienced B2B sales professionals from other product-led industries who can learn a varied product range and build credible customer relationships.

You will inherit an established customer base, receive a structured introduction to the business and benefit from the support of experienced colleagues. Most importantly, you will have the autonomy to manage your territory and directly influence both your earnings and the continued growth of a successful business.

Our client has been trading for more than 50 years and offers the stability of an established organisation alongside the personal, supportive culture of a family-run company.

If you are an experienced B2B sales professional looking for a genuine opportunity to develop valuable accounts, win new business and earn uncapped commission, apply now.

Please note: Due to the nature of our client’s customer base, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
