Since 1998, the company has supported a wide range of sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, local government, agriculture, industrial operations, estate management, and leisure parks. Forktruck Solutions specialise in EP & Combilift equipment, operating with over 300 rental machines, 18 engineers, and a growing service network. The team focuses on optimising customer productivity and reducing operating costs through rental services, parts supply, offsite workshop and mobile repairs. Role Description
The Area Sales Manager role is a full-time position based from our depot in Wakefield. This role is responsible for developing and managing sales within an assigned territory, focusing on lithium-powered materials handling equipment and related services. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, conducting site visits, and delivering product presentations and demonstrations. The Area Sales Manager will prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and follow up on leads to achieve sales targets. The role also involves maintaining accurate CRM records, collaborating closely with service and operations teams, and providing market feedback to support product and strategy development.

Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, and closing deals.
- Experience in account management and customer relationship management, with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Knowledge of materials handling, industrial equipment, or related sectors is highly beneficial.
- Ability to conduct site surveys, understand customer operational requirements, and recommend suitable solutions.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, suitable for diverse customer audiences.
- Proficiency with basic IT tools and CRM systems for managing pipelines, reporting, and territory planning.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with a focus on meeting targets and deadlines.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the assigned area.
- Previous experience in field sales or area sales management, ideally in B2B environments.
