Area Sales Manager – Plumbing Products
Midlands | £45,000 + 20% Bonus + Company Car
Are you an experienced Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager with a background in plumbing, heating, merchants, building products or construction?
Our client is an award-winning, market-leading manufacturer of innovative plumbing products, with a portfolio that stands out in the market for its quality, performance and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business that is at the forefront of product innovation, investing heavily in research and development to deliver energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions for commercial customers.
The business also has an excellent track record of developing and promoting Area Sales Managers into leadership and key account roles, supported by ongoing training, development and genuine career progression.
The Role of Area Sales Manager
- Manage and grow sales across the Midlands
- Develop and strengthen relationships with commercial plumbing & heating merchants, distributors such as City Plumbing, UKPS, F&P and Wolseley as well as Buying Groups
- Generate demand with Installers & plumbing / heating Contractors
- Attend industry trade events and breakfast mornings - showcasing and promoting products to customers
- Provide customers with product and project support
- Introduce innovative, energy-efficient products that deliver cost-effective solutions
- Develop relationships with national and independent merchants, buying groups and distributors
- Manage your territory effectively, taking ownership of opportunities from identification through to conversion

The Candidate for the Area Sales Manager role

We are looking for someone with:
- Experience within plumbing, heating, merchants, building products or construction
- Experience working for a merchant or manufacturer within (plumbing / heating or M&E sector)
- Strong sales and business development experience
- The ability to understand customer requirements, handle objections and communicate product features, advantages and benefits effectively
- Confidence providing product and project support to customers
- Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational and territory management skills
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems and taking ownership
The Package for the Area Sales Manager role
- £45,000 basic salary
- 20% bonus
