Role Description
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and growing the Devon, Cornwall & Somerset territory through regular face-to-face customer visits, focusing on retail and contract customers. This full-time remote role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with existing accounts, and promoting Kellars Flooring’s product range to meet sales targets. Daily activities include conducting virtual and in-person meetings, preparing quotes, responding to customer inquiries, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and next-day delivery. The Area Sales Manager will monitor market trends, gather customer feedback, and provide input on pricing, product mix, and promotional activities. The role also includes maintaining accurate records in CRM systems, reporting on performance, and representing Kellars Flooring professionally at remote and on-site customer engagements.

- Proven experience in field or area sales, preferably within flooring, building materials, or related wholesale/trade environments.
- Strong skills in relationship-building, account management, and customer service to support trade customers, retailers, and distributors.
- Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate pricing and terms, and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Comfort with remote work, including effective use of CRM tools, video conferencing platforms, and digital communication channels.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills to plan territory coverage, prioritize customer visits, and manage follow-ups.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present product solutions and value propositions.
- Good understanding of flooring products (carpet, LVT/SPC, vinyl, laminate, artificial grass, underlay, accessories) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal operations and logistics teams.
- Previous experience using sales reporting and forecasting tools; familiarity with Excel or similar software is beneficial.
