Job Description: Sales Executive

Tamarisk only sells products through retailers, specifiers and interior designers.

Job Purpose

Covering a specified territory, fully remote with the Long Eaton Showroom as a base, you have responsibility for increasing Tamarisk Designs’ physical presence in the marketplace with a focus on increasing key account & outbound new business sales through a strategic approach, working closely with the wider team. You will work to engage with both new & existing retailers and interior designers, empower them with the knowledge of the Tamarisk brand and product range and guide them through the ordering process. The key aim with our retail customers will be to understand how you can assist them to drive sales within stores on a continual improvement basis. You will work closely with both the Tamarisk internal sales team & the wider Hill Cross Group Business Development / Sales teams, sharing commercial insight from the marketplace, across the group.

You will also assist with inbound enquiries to aid the internal sales team in times of elevated levels of enquiry. Regular travel on a weekly basis will be required across the UK.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Identification of new business opportunities through social media, CRM brochure downloads/leads or other sources and creating a first point of contact
  • Proactively manage and grow sales through strategic and active account management
  • Making cold calls where appropriate
  • Actively target new business and build strong relationships
  • Ensure all relevant staff within stores and showrooms are provided with appropriate training and support materials
  • Utilisation of CRM target accounts. Ensure that target clients are identified within this space for full transparency across the team
  • Arrange and attend face-to-face meetings with clients with a focus placed on diary organization to maximize the number of meetings and minimize costs
  • Mystery shops to new & existing retailers to undertake SWOT analysis
  • Showcase the Tamarisk Designs offering by phone or in person with our client message at the core. Communicating with clients with a ‘call first’ approach
  • Ensure customers are informed of latest products and sales information
  • Ensure periodic telephone / in person contact takes place for new & existing clients to ensure maximum output
  • Keeping the CRM up to date with all client contact
  • Ordering samples where appropriate
  • Ensuring in store displays, in store POS and swatch books are maintained and up to date
  • Generating deals via CRM & ensuring pipeline is always accurate
  • Follow up of quotations to gain client feedback
  • Closing sales
  • Raising orders
  • Compile presenter packs – proposals for retailer floor space, working alongside Design Director
  • Assist with inbound enquiries to aid the internal sales team in times of elevated levels of enquiry
  • Attendance of networking events
  • Attend exhibitions, and meetings as and when required
  • Share marketplace innovations digitally, in person or by phone
  • Share regular feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and marketplace or industry development
  • Inform the marketing team of any appropriate commercial news within the weekly meeting

  • Contribute towards overall annual sales turnover target with achievement of personal set monthly turnover target
  • Maintain a healthy margin across all orders
  • Attend an average of 10 meetings per week, either in person or via Teams. At least 2 per month should be prospecting (brand new to Tamarisk/no prior contact)
  • Demonstrate an average call count of 15 connected client calls per week, consisting of follow-ups, general ‘keep in contact’ calls and meeting bookings
  • All emails to be acknowledged within 24hrs. If an urgent client request is made and support is required, this should be flagged to the team within the same day as email receipt for potential reallocation to another team member.
  • Presenter Packs/Flipbooks to be compiled and returned within 7/10 working days.
  • Standard quotes to be turned around within 24hrs, non standard quotes to be returned within 73hrs.
  • Illustrate growth across existing key accounts
