Area Sales Manager – North East England

Architectural Aluminium Systems | Fabricators | Fenestration | Building Envelope

Salary: £62,500 basic

Benefits: Company car, business mileage and monthly bonus scheme

Territory: North East England

Location: Home and field-based

We are working with a well-established, market-leading UK manufacturer of architectural aluminium systems to recruit an Area Sales Manager covering the North East of England.

This is an established territory offering an excellent balance of account management and new business development. You will be responsible for growing revenue from existing customers while identifying and securing profitable new business across both commercial and residential markets.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and developing existing customer relationships across the territory.
  • Identifying and securing new customers and profitable sales opportunities.
  • Developing business across commercial and residential markets.
  • Working closely with aluminium fabricators, glazing contractors, installers, building-envelope specialists and distribution partners.
  • Developing a strong technical understanding of the company’s products and services.
  • Providing customers with accurate product, process and service information.
  • Helping customers develop their businesses and identify new market opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities for additional specialist products and services.
  • Managing sales pipelines, customer activity and territory performance.
  • Using sales and analytical data to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Producing weekly call plans, monthly reports and accurate sales forecasts.
  • Working closely with internal sales, technical, accounts and customer-service teams.
  • Monitoring market activity, competitors and developments within the aluminium and fenestration sectors.
  • Managing the territory autonomously and professionally.

The Candidate

We would like to speak with experienced Area Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers or Business Development Managers who have sold through one or more of the following channels:

  • Aluminium fabricators
  • Window and door manufacturers
  • Glazing contractors
  • Fenestration businesses
  • Building-envelope contractors
  • Specialist installers
  • Construction-product distributors

Experience with architectural aluminium systems, windows and doors, curtain walling, façades, glazing or related building products would be particularly advantageous.

You should be:

  • Commercially driven and comfortable developing new business.
  • Equally capable of managing and growing established accounts.
  • Technically credible when discussing construction products and systems.
  • Confident managing a large geographical territory.
  • Organised and comfortable with structured call planning, reporting and forecasting.
  • Able to build long-term relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence.
