Area Sales Manager – Reading & Southampton

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within DHL, managing the sales for our Reading and Southampon areas.
About The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for a regional sales cluster, managing the field sales team to ensure customers are retained and new business opportunities are maximised, ensuring local targets are met and exceeded. The role would be responsible for 8 direct reports and a monthly revenue of over 2 million with 400 trading customers and 7 million in the pipeline.

You will be required to implement country Sales Plans, Sales Strategy and Sales Budget in the responsible territory, set strategic objectives for growth and increased profitability across the regional territory utilising local and industry knowledge.
In addition, you will produce a Sales Force Activity/Business Plan for the sales team and provide appropriate results as input for review and/or development of the annual Sales Plan and Sales Budget.

We're seeking an accomplished commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering significant business growth through both strategic account management and new business acquisition.
What you'll bring:
- Significant leadership experience managing sales teams.
- Experience managing complex, high-value customer relationships.
- Strong strategic account management and business development expertise.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching and people development capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting and commercial analysis.
- The ability to identify area sales opportunities.
