Area Sales Manager Building & Plumbing Tools

Job Title: Area Sales Manager Hand Tools

Industry Sector: Area Sales Manager, Field Sales Executive, Sales Representative, Business Development Manager, Independent Builders Merchants, Plumbing Merchants, DIY & Hardware Stores, Independent Retailers, Building Products, Construction, Hand Tools

Area to be covered: London

Remuneration: £45,000 + uncapped commission (at least £7,500 year one)

Benefits: £5,400 car allowance, £240 mobile allowance & benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager Hand Tools will involve:

  • Field sales role, selling a distributed range of mid-market hand tools for the building trade
  • All of your time will be spent selling into independent builders merchants, plumbing merchants, DIY & hardware stores, and independent retailers
  • Now part of NMBS Buying Society giving potential for larger volume sales
  • Turnover target circa £550k
  • Will be given 300 accounts
  • Typical order values around £350
  • Typical on-boarding process for new independent retail customers, 2-3 months

  • Must have field sales experience selling to merchants ideally independent
  • Open in terms of what building products you've sold previously
  • Experience of having sold hand tools is not essential as full product training will be provided
  • Must be IT proficient/ computer literate
  • Go getter with roll sleeves up mentality
