Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to join an independent energy supplier providing LPG solutions to domestic, commercial, and agricultural customers. Ideally, candidates will be based within or close to the territory, including Guildford or Reading. However, candidates from surrounding areas may also be considered, including Redhill, Tonbridge, Brighton, or South West London areas.

This is a field-based role responsible for developing new business opportunities across an allocated territory. The successful candidate will identify potential LPG users, visit businesses and properties, engage with decision-makers, generate leads, and convert opportunities into sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Visit businesses and properties to promote company services and identify potential customers.
  • Engage with decision-makers to understand customer requirements and discuss available solutions.
  • Gather relevant customer information, including fuel requirements and current supplier details where applicable.
  • Leave information packs at suitable properties where contact cannot be made and record potential opportunities.
  • Follow up leads by telephone and email to discuss requirements and progress sales opportunities.
  • Visit customer locations to carry out site surveys and support the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and sales activity.
  • Plan daily routes effectively to maximise time, mileage, and lead generation opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
