At Marshalls plc, we believe building tomorrow's world starts with what we can create together today. Since the 1890s, we've grown from a Yorkshire stone business into a leading UK manufacturer of building, roofing and landscaping solutions. Today, we support the people who design, build and maintain the homes, schools, hospitals, streets and infrastructure that communities across the UK rely on. Built on generations of expertise, we're known for quality, innovation and sustainability, helping our customers bring their vision to life and create places that work today and last for generations. We're proud of our heritage, excited by what's next and committed to helping our colleagues grow, develop and make a real difference. Together, we're building tomorrow's world.

Our operations are organised into three distinct divisions: Landscape Products, Building Products, and Roofing Products. Within our Building Products division, our Aggregates & Block business supports a wide range of construction, infrastructure and specialist stone projects. Working with customers ranging from local authorities and major contractors to merchants, housebuilders and stonemasons, we're proud to supply the premium natural materials they rely on. We're now looking for an Area Sales Manager to join our team and help us continue building strong customer partnerships, winning new opportunities and delivering sustainable growth.

What's the Mission?

You'll take ownership of the Yorkshire region, helping us grow our Aggregates & Block business by building strong customer relationships, uncovering new opportunities and creating long-term value for our customers and our business.

Working with local authorities, contractors, civil engineering businesses, aggregate merchants, housebuilders, project managers, quantity surveyors and procurement teams, you'll become a trusted partner who understands your customers' needs and helps them find the right solutions for their projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

No two days will look the same. One day you could be meeting customers on-site to discuss an upcoming infrastructure scheme, while the next, you're reviewing your pipeline, identifying future opportunities, or collaborating with colleagues across logistics, operations, technical and customer service teams to ensure we're consistently delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You'll develop and deliver a clear plan, identifying key customers, projects and growth opportunities that support our regional and national objectives. You'll monitor market trends, customer activity and competitor movements, using your insights to help us strengthen our position and continue delivering sustainable growth.

This is a great opportunity to make a real impact, building trusted customer partnerships, creating new opportunities for growth, and contributing to the continued success of our Aggregates & Block business.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven success in field-based sales, account management, business development or specification sales within construction, aggregates, civils, building materials, heavy side products or a related industry
  • Experience managing a sales territory and delivering against revenue, volume, margin and growth targets
  • The ability to build trust quickly and develop strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience identifying opportunities, negotiating effectively and delivering profitable outcomes
  • Excellent planning, organisation and territory management skills
  • A customer-first mindset and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to use market insight, customer knowledge and sales data to identify opportunities and inform decisions
