Position: Area Sales Manager – Construction Supply – M&E

Location: London, Home Counties

Package: £50,000 – £55,000 Basic Salary + Bonus + Car/Allowance + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

South East – London & Home Counties

£50-55k Basic Salary + Bonus + Company Car

We’re recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join an established and growing supplier of commercial pipework and press-fitting systems, covering London, the Home Counties and the wider South East.

This is a field-based sales role focused on developing business across the commercial and industrial building-services market, working with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors, installers, merchants and distribution partners.

The successful candidate will inherit an established territory with significant potential for further growth. The route to market is predominantly through merchant and distribution partners, while developing demand and project opportunities directly with contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop sales across the South East territory
  • Build relationships with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors and commercial installers
  • Develop existing merchant and distribution partnerships
  • Work alongside merchant sales teams on joint customer and contractor visits
  • Identify and develop commercial and industrial project opportunities
  • Generate demand for commercial pipework and press-fitting systems
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers throughout the project supply chain
  • Manage projects from initial opportunity through to specification, quotation and order
  • Identify new customers and opportunities to increase market share
  • Deliver agreed sales, revenue and territory growth targets

Requirements

  • Proven field sales experience within commercial plumbing, mechanical building services or industrial pipework
  • Experience selling pressure pipe and fittings, stainless-steel pipework, press-fit systems or closely related products
  • Knowledge of 304/316 stainless-steel systems would be particularly advantageous
  • Experience selling into commercial and/or industrial projects
  • Strong relationships with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors, installers or associated customers
  • Experience working through plumbers’ merchants, specialist distributors or other distribution partners
  • Able to develop contractor demand while supporting and developing the distribution channel
  • Commercially driven with a strong track record of developing territories and winning new business
  • Based within or able to effectively cover London, the Home Counties and the wider South East
