Location: Office based from their manufacturing site in Worcester

Reporting To: National Distributor Senior Sales Manager

Role: Area Sales Manager: Europe

Purpose: Supports the continued strategic development of the company's market share penetration across the National Distributor regions including Spain, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, and Greece. The successful candidate would be required to undertake both UK and overseas travel in support of the role.

Responsibilities:

Account and Distributor Support

  • Manage national distributor accounts and provide support through a range of communication channels.
  • Support national distributors across all commercial and technical activities.
  • Maintain and update CRM records for all national distributor accounts.

Sales Strategy and Business Development

  • On a cradle to grave customer and sales engagement basis, work with national distributor management to develop sales strategies that deliver strategic targets and strengthen business performance across the assigned territories.
  • Visit distributors and end customers to build strong relationships and support order closure.
  • Provide quotation support, as well as review and process orders in line with defined procedures.
  • Represent the organisation at national and international exhibitions across the territory.

Collaboration, Visits, and Compliance

  • Arrange and host distributor and customer visits to the Worcester facilities as required.
  • Provide the organisation with customer feedback and product requirements.
  • Ensure all distributors within the national distributor territory understand and comply fully with export requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with factories and Product Groups across the company's worldwide network.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Industry Knowledge and Commercial Skills

  • Experience in the machine tool and/or laser machinery industry
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Price negotiation skills, including coordinating support from internal stakeholders

Communication and Relationship Management

  • A personable and professional approach, with the ability to build rapport with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management, external partners, and internal teams on both technical and commercial matters.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally: European language skills would be beneficial.
