Area Sales Manager

Location: West Midlands

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to join a leading organisation within the industrial and automation sector. Covering Glasgow and the wider West of Scotland region, you will be responsible for managing and growing an established customer base while identifying and developing new business opportunities across a range of manufacturing and engineering customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional with experience in industrial products, engineering solutions, automation, pneumatics, or technical B2B sales who enjoys building long-term customer relationships and delivering consultative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory growth plan to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers across multiple industrial sectors.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within manufacturing, engineering and industrial accounts.
  • Conduct customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Work closely with internal technical and customer support teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasting updates.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within the region.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and account management throughout the sales cycle.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Proven success within an external B2B sales role.
  • Experience selling technical, industrial, engineering, automation, pneumatic, fluid controls or related products.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to business development.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • The ability to manage a geographical territory effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
