Area Sales Manager - South West England and Wales
We are an established international medical equipment manufacturer with a strong reputation for high-quality, customisable products used across the NHS and private healthcare sector. As our Area Sales Manager, you will take ownership of an established South West England and Wales territory with loyal customers, live opportunities, and significant potential to rebuild and grow sales.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, confident sales professional who enjoys finding opportunities, opening doors, and developing long-term relationships within complex healthcare environments.
Basic Salary
- A GBP 45,000 - A GBP 48,000
Benefits
- A OTE circa A GBP 65,000 - A GBP 70,000
- A Uncapped commission of 2 - 7% of order value
- A Quarterly performance bonus: up to A GBP 3,000

Location
- Home based, covering South West England and Wales with regular travel throughout the territory and to France for company meetings.

Job Description
Reporting to the UK Managing Director, as our Area Sales Manager, you will take ownership of a territory with an established customer base and plenty of scope for further development. Historically a strong-performing region for the business, the territory has not had the attention it needs over the last 12-18 months, creating an excellent opportunity for a natural salesperson to build relationships, develop existing accounts, and win new business.
You will inherit existing customers and active opportunities, including recently secured and developing NHS projects, while having the autonomy to identify and develop your own pipeline. Selling a broad portfolio of medical equipment, you will work with NHS and private hospitals across departments including A&E, Renal, Oncology, Day Surgery, and Patient Handling.
Key Responsibilities
As Our Area Sales Manager, You Will
- A Develop new business across the territory, working towards an initial annual sales target of approximately A GBP 200,000 - A GBP 250,000
- A Identify new customers, projects, and opportunities across NHS and private healthcare.
- A Develop the existing customer base alongside building a strong new-business pipeline.
- A By delivering engaging product demonstrations and presentations, you will build relationships with Procurement, EBME, Manual Handling, Estates and Facilities, nursing teams, and clinical departments.
- A Manage opportunities and negotiate contracts through complex, multi-stakeholder NHS procurement processes with varied sales cycles.

Person Specification
We are looking for a confident and proactive salesperson who enjoys developing business rather than simply maintaining existing accounts.
Experience selling medical devices or capital equipment into hospitals would be a distinct advantage, particularly within areas such as Renal, Day Surgery, Chemotherapy/Oncology, A&E, Manual Handling, Estates and Facilities, or NHS Procurement. An existing network of healthcare contacts across South West England or Wales would also be highly beneficial.
