Area Sales Manager

Location: Southwest Wales & surrounding areas

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Benefits:

Client Information

Our client is a leading supplier of process instrumentation, pipeline products, valves & controls, stud-bolts, fasteners, gaskets, engineering consumables and associated services. Their success is built on technical expertise, strong customer relationships and the ability to respond quickly to customer requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to join the team and develop a growing customer base across Southwest Wales and surrounding areas. The role is ideal for an experienced sales professional or technically minded individual who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities and providing customers with practical, technically informed solutions.

Area Sales Manager Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement a structured sales plan for the Southwest Wales territory.
  • Identify, target and develop new customer opportunities.
  • Grow sales and gross margin across existing customer accounts.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision makers.
  • Regularly visit customers and prospects to understand their requirements and identify new opportunities.

Customer Account Management

  • Maintain excellent relationships with existing customers.
  • Understand customers’ businesses, applications, challenges and future requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the share of wallet within existing accounts.

Technical & Commercial Support

  • Develop a good working knowledge of the product portfolio; in-depth technical background in Valves / Instrumentation or Flow Control is desirable.
  • Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Work closely with the internal engineering and sales teams to develop technically and commercially appropriate quotations.

Experience

  • Commercially driven with previous industrial, technical sales or business development experience
  • Knowledge of industrial customers across Pembrokeshire and Southwest Wales
  • Technically curious with an understanding of Process Engineering applications
  • Comfortable developing new business and managing a sales territory independently
  • Able to discuss technical and commercial requirements with customers
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

The region covers Southwest Wales and ideally you will be located across Pembroke, Swansea, Carmarthen, Cardigan or surrounding areas.
