Area Sales Manager
What does a successful Area Sales Manager do?
A successful Area Sales Manager at Fiserv leads a remote field sales Self generating team to grow Clover from Fiserv by winning new merchant relationships and expanding revenue across assigned territories. This leader coaches consultants to sell with confidence, clarity, and a consultative mindset that solves real business challenges for merchants. They create a culture of accountability, ethical selling, and performance excellence while helping their team build trusted, long-term client relationships. By aligning team activity to merchant needs, market opportunity, and operational discipline, they help advance our mission as a partner in possibility.
What You Will Do
- Lead a self-generating team of Business Consultants to acquire new switcher merchants across assigned UK territories
- Coach consultants to use consultative, value-based sales approaches that position Clover solutions around merchant needs
- Drive team performance against sales goals, pipeline activity, conversion metrics, and behavioural expectations
- Support commercial negotiations with business owners and senior stakeholders to deliver strong merchant outcomes
- Guide territory planning, field activity, and CRM pipeline management to improve productivity and sales execution
- Oversee merchant onboarding, compliance documentation, risk checks, and implementation coordination
- Resolve merchant escalations and remove barriers through strong cross-functional partnership across Fiserv
- Develop talent, address underperformance, and build a high-performing, customer-first team culture

What You Will Need To Have
- Experience leading a field-based sales team in payments, card acquiring, fintech, or merchant services
- Experience coaching teams on new business development, self-generated leads, and consultative selling
- Proven ability to manage sales performance, pipeline discipline, forecasting, and territory execution
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to lead negotiations and influence senior decision-makers
- Proficiency using CRM platforms, sales reporting tools, and Excel to track performance and activity
What Would Be Great To Have
- Experience selling Clover products, POS platforms, software solutions, or value-added merchant services
- Knowledge of merchant onboarding, compliance standards, scheme rules, and risk review processes
- Experience growing portfolios through cross-sell, retention, and relationship management strategies
- Ability to support technical and operational sales discussions with confidence and clarity
- Familiarity with the UK SME market and merchant segments with annual card turnover from £100k to £5m
