Area Sales Manager – Technical Sales
£50,000–£55,000 + bonus + company car
Territory: Northern UK
Location: Field-based with home working
Are you an experienced technical sales professional who enjoys understanding complex customer requirements and selling solutions rather than simply products?
We’re working with a global specialist in technical equipment and solutions, offering a collaborative and flexible environment where people are trusted to take ownership. With a flat structure, strong team culture and genuine focus on work-life balance, this is a business that values mutual respect, continuous improvement and autonomy.
They’re looking for an Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established territory and drive growth across equipment, consumables and service.
This is a consultative, solution-led sales role covering customers across aerospace, automotive, materials manufacturing, universities and research environments.
You’ll sell a complete range of technical solutions including cutting equipment, mounting solutions, grinding and polishing, cleaning, hardness testing and other specialist testing equipment.
The role is approximately 80% account development and 20% new business, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships while still having the drive to identify and close new opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
