Job Purpose

This position reports to the New Holland Harvesting Sales Lead. The Area Sales Manager has the responsibility to develop sales and share of market for New Holland Agricultural machinery, also managing the business relationships with the assigned dealers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving and supporting dealers to win retail contracts to achieve share of market.
  • Managing orders from the dealers to maintain appropriate levels of inventory to satisfy retail business.
  • Regular dealer visits are a core part of the job and customer visits will form a major part of the role.
  • Own the definition of the dealer’s Annual Business Plan and setting of Dealer sales forecasts and objectives. The Business plan will include Top Partner (dealer standards) where improvement actions and audits will be managed by the successful applicant.
  • Drive proactive Sales App use and champion CRM as a sales management tool.
  • Ensure that all marketing programs and policies are fully understood and utilized by the dealer sales force to achieve sales.
  • Control and apply variable marketing funds through the order management system.
  • Organize and deliver Sales and Product Training to ensure Dealer sales staff are knowledgeable and are able to sell New Holland Brand features and benefits.
  • Maintain a knowledge of competitive models and specification to ensure that the market environment remains competitive.
  • The organization of promotional events, demonstrations, open days, customer evenings, factory visits, and product presentations.
  • Spend an appropriate amount of time with customers in support of Dealer activities to maximise market share potential and provide necessary direct market feedback.
  • Make a positive contribution to the Business Unit team. Assist fellow Business Unit members to enhance the value and contribution of the Business Units to the Dealer network and to maximise potential to achieve business objectives.

Experience Required

  • An in-depth appreciation of sales and product related activities associated with agricultural machinery in particular Harvesting.
  • Qualified to degree or HND in an Agricultural subject.
  • Computer literacy to a high standard.
  • Experience in a Sales & Marketing environment.
  • A full clean driving licence is required as a job car is provided.
  • The job will require extensive travel within the territory and overnight stays within the UK & ROI may be necessary.
  • People skills are essential and the ability to handle difficult situations with dealers and customers.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Ability and discipline to work independently, as well as in a team.
  • A self-starter with a positive mental attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to take responsibility for personal performance.
