Area Sales Manager – Valves & Pumps
We’re excited to be partnering with a leading pump and valve specialist to recruit an Area Sales Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business and develop new and existing customer relationships across the pharmaceutical, food and beverage sectors.
Responsibilities
The Area Sales Manager – Valves & Pumps will be responsible for developing sales and customer relationships within the Valves & Pumps Business Unit. The role will focus on growing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities and delivering sales and profitability targets across the assigned area.
Driving Sales Growth
- Develop and deliver sales plans for valves and pumps across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care and other hygienic process industries.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to increase sales, market share and profitability.
- Grow and maintain existing customer accounts, building long-term commercial relationships.
- Support regional and global sales initiatives in line with company strategy.

Customer Development
- Build strong relationships with customers, distributors and key industry contacts.
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
Teamwork & Growth Opportunities
- Work closely with the wider Sales, Service and Technical teams to identify new opportunities.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the wider product portfolio.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure quotations, proposals and contracts are delivered effectively.
Market Intelligence & Performance
- Maintain accurate CRM information and provide regular sales forecasts and reports.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
- Provide market feedback to the Head of Sales and wider business to support growth and product development.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience in face-to-face sales, business development or commercial management within valves, pumps and/or the hygienic process industry.
- Good technical understanding combined with strong commercial awareness.
- Experience in customer relationship management, negotiation and contract development.
- Confident communicator with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, commercially focused and able to develop new business opportunities.
- Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays where required.
