Role Description

The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Farnham Common, responsible for driving sales of warehouse storage and handling solutions within an assigned territory. Day-to-day activities include:

The role involves:

  • Presenting tailored solutions
  • Preparing quotes and proposals
  • Following up to close opportunities while maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships

The Area Sales Manager collaborates with design and operations teams to ensure proposed systems meet client needs and budget, and stays informed about market trends and competitor activity. Regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts is required, along with participation in internal meetings and occasional industry events.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in B2B field sales, ideally within warehouse storage, materials handling, logistics, or a related industrial sector.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, lead generation, and account management, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Ability to understand technical solutions, interpret warehouse layouts, and communicate storage and racking concepts clearly to customers.
  • Solid negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, with confidence in preparing and delivering proposals to decision-makers.
  • Competence in using CRM systems and standard office software for tracking opportunities, preparing quotations, and reporting on sales activity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a territory, prioritize opportunities, and work independently.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the assigned area for client meetings and site surveys.
  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or industrial equipment sales and a good understanding of ROI-driven customer solutions is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant education in business, sales, engineering, or a related field is advantageous, though equivalent professional experience is also valued.
