Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pertemps are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to join a well-established and growing business within the plumbing, pipeline and merchant sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a builders' merchant, plumbing, pipeline or construction supplies background to manage an established territory covering Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
Working in a field-based role, you will be responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships while driving new business growth across the region. Supported by an experienced internal sales team, you will focus on developing accounts, generating enquiries, progressing quotations and securing profitable business.
This position would suit a hardworking, organised and trustworthy sales professional who enjoys being out with customers, building long-term relationships and delivering results.
Key Duties
- Managing and developing existing customer accounts across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities within your territory.
- Building strong customer relationships through regular visits and communication.
- Generating enquiries, progressing quotations and converting opportunities into sales.
- Working closely with internal sales and branch teams to maximise opportunities.
- Achieving sales and margin targets.
- Providing regular activity and performance reports to management.
- Attending sales meetings, training sessions and customer events as required.
- Managing your diary effectively to maximise customer contact time.
- Delivering exceptional customer service at all times.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an external sales, field sales or business development role.
- Experience within builders' merchants, plumbing, pipeline products, construction supplies or a related industry.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify sales opportunities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Trustworthy, reliable and professional in their approach.
- A strong work ethic and desire to spend time in the field developing customers.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ideally based locally to Gloucester.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday.

Pay & Benefits
- £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
