Join AvantiGas as an Area Sales Manager and be at the forefront of our commercial growth.
About This Role
We are looking for a commercially driven, technically minded professional to win new business across a defined territory that includes Moray, Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Perth and Kinross, Angus, Dundee City, Fife.
As an Area Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of identifying and winning new bulk LPG business, driving margin growth and building lasting relationships with the customers you bring on board. This is a role where your commercial acumen and technical understanding, from site surveys to translating customer requirements into LPG energy solutions, will directly impact our business growth.
What Makes This Role Special
Beyond hitting your sales targets, you'll understand your customers' technical challenges and position LPG as a genuine alternative to other fuels, building a strong, sustainable portfolio through your commercial expertise and technical credibility.
You'll work from home with regular field-based activity across your patch, giving you the freedom to drive your own results and manage your portfolio your way. Commercial Support colleagues are there to help, but your success in this role comes down to your own initiative, self-motivated approach and aspiration to hit and beat your targets.
What You Will Be Doing
Your focus will be on growing volume, revenue and margin across your patch, primarily through winning new business, with re-contracting and account management as a smaller part of the role. You'll prospect for new opportunities, attend industry events, and keep a close eye on competitor activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll need to understand your customers' technical and operational requirements and match these to our LPG products and services, promoting LPG as an alternative to diesel, heating oil, electricity and natural gas and clearly explaining the technical and commercial benefits to decision-makers.
You'll work within delegated authorities, using the tools we provide, to deliver against agreed KPIs including volume, margin, profit, lead conversion and additional revenue streams.
Who We Are Looking For
We're looking for someone who is driven to win business and motivated by real results, backing yourself to hit ambitious targets. You'll be someone who can engage confidently with customers, understanding their needs and translating these into the right LPG solution for them.
You'll have a proven track record in field-based sales, ideally within LPG, fuels, energy, or a similarly technical industry. An understanding of fuels, energy systems, combustion technology or industrial processes would be highly valuable, and any experience discussing technical specifications or system requirements with engineers, facilities managers or operational decision-makers is a strong advantage. Full training is provided, so if you have the sales drive and can pick up the technical side quickly, we still want to hear from you.
You'll have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals confidently at senior level. You'll be highly organised, able to manage your own priorities, and comfortable presenting solutions to technical and commercial stakeholders alike.
