Job Title: AREA SALES MANAGER
Location: SOUTH LONDON, KENT, SURREY & SUSSEX
Job Description:
We are seeking to recruit an AREA SALES MANAGER to join our already well-established team to drive profitable business in SOUTH LONDON & THE SOUTHERN HOME COUNTIES.

We are a successful family-owned UK Manufacturer with a strong reputation built up over 100 years. We are a UK Manufacturer of carpet tiles and stair nosing/flooring accessories as well as distributor of LVT and wood flooring. The brand primarily caters to the flooring contractor market but we see growing success in the fit out and specifier markets. With the core principles of high customer service, performance, and value, we aim to be a true partner for any customer we work with.
The Role:
To proactively promote our company’s floor covering solutions via Flooring Contractors, Design & Build/Fit-Out companies, Architects, and End User clients by raising awareness, generating sales, and hitting agreed monthly sales goals whilst working closely with other members of the team both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:
- Generate sales by expanding, and developing new business accounts and nurturing the existing customer base through strong business development and relationship-building skills.
- Conducting site measures for stair nosing sales. Working with other team members as and when needed.
- Demonstrating strong and diplomatic negotiation skills.
- Generating new business through proactiveness in the marketplace.
- Manage and develop Key Accounts.
- Be able to promote solutions on design capabilities over and above price.
- Grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Complete administration on time so that accurate analysis reports can be prepared for use in the measurement of progress and forward planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Candidates need to be located on territory and have an excellent working knowledge of who’s who in the target sales channels and the inner ways and workings of how to successfully manage a construction project sales cycle from inception through to completion.
- Candidates need to have at least 3-5 years’ experience within the flooring sector along with an in-depth understanding of customers or potential customers, products, sustainability, design, and what that entails.
- Candidates need to have a sound network of relationships, connections, and understanding of the Flooring Contractor, Fit Out / D&B / Sub Contractors, and any A&D relationships would be an advantage that are located in the area.
- Experience of short and long-term project selling cycles.
- Evidence of stability and success in similar previous roles.
- Must have a growth mindset and must be a business development-driven field sales professional.
- Team player.
- Full driving license.
- Computer literate (to include excel).
- A driven sales professional who is able to grow the existing account base and confident working on new and exciting design-led projects.
