Role Overview

The Area Sales Manager leads the Sales activities for Oil, Gas & Petrochem sectors in a defined territory. The incumbent also is responsible for managing agents and distributors in that territory. Among other tasks, the incumbent will focus on dormant plant activation, drive the replacement of competitors with respective IMI products and support GH initiatives in the market.

This role can be based anywhere across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support of activities to grow the IMI business within and, whenever needed, out of his/her own range of responsibility.
  • Driving of portfolio selling of IMI products.
  • Responsibility for achieving set budget targets and Sales KPI’s as annually defined.
  • Driving intimacy with customers in our market and identifies important customer problems that can be solved with IMI products.
  • Active support of Sales in his/her Sub-Region by visiting customers and agents at minimum 3-4 days a week.
  • Managing of sub-regional agent-strategy in order to drive additional Sales.
  • Focusing on dormant plant activation and replacement of competitor products in the sub-region.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with company policies and profitability goals.
  • Ensuring that all IMI processes and procedures are followed and complied with.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical educational background (e.g., University Degree in Engineering) or commercial educational background (e.g., University Degree in Economics or Business Development, MBA/BA).
  • The preferred candidate has first professional experience in an industrial Sales environment with high-end products, best in ETO (Engineered to Order).
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a comparable Technical and Sales environment, preferably in the Valve Applications Industry.
  • Ready to walk the extra mile to get to full performance within the quickest possible time.
  • Fluent in English; any other language as an advantage.
  • Structured, self-driven, and organized approach.
  • 100% reliability towards customer, IMI Sales organization, agents, distributors, and internal business units.
  • By using listening skills, focus on identifying meaningful customer problems and solving them.
  • Willingness to travel (min. 80%).
