Role Description

The Area Sales Professional is a full-time remote role responsible for growing revenue and market share within an assigned geographic territory. In this role, the individual will proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, manage a portfolio of existing accounts, and build long-term relationships with customers across key industries.

  • Conducting on-site and office meetings
  • Preparing quotations
  • Responding to customer enquiries
  • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services

The role involves monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to align GAP’s solutions with client needs and promote the full range of divisions and eco-focused offerings. The Area Sales Professional will also maintain accurate records in CRM systems, meet or exceed sales targets, and contribute to continuous improvement in sales processes and customer service.

Qualifications

Preferred but not essential

  • Demonstrated experience in field or area sales, account management, or business development, ideally within hire, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, customer service, and stakeholder management to develop and maintain long-term client partnerships.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals while working toward defined sales targets and KPIs.
  • Competence in using CRM systems, digital communication tools, and standard office software to manage pipelines and reporting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present solutions and explain technical offerings in clear, accessible language.
  • Solid organisational and time-management abilities, with capacity to plan territory coverage, prioritize opportunities, and work independently in a remote setting.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn about equipment hire solutions, safety and compliance considerations, and sustainable, eco-focused products.
  • Valid UK driving licence and readiness to travel within the assigned area when required for customer visits and site meetings.
  • Educational background in business, sales, or a related field is advantageous, though equivalent experience in a similar role will be considered.
