Area Sales Representative

RIDGWAY RENTALS ARE LOOKING FOR AN AREA SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Full Job Description

Contract

Full time, Permanent position

Working Pattern

7:30am – 6:00 pm (Monday – Friday)

Salary Range

£30,000 – £35,000 Plus Commission

Role Purpose

The Area Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales and market share within an assigned geographical territory. You will win new business, build long-term customer relationships and represent the company as the face of the brand in your area, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets within your territory
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and cold outreach
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive product presentations, quotations and proposals

Account Management

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers through regular visits, calls and follow-ups
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or solutions
  • Resolve queries and complaints promptly, working with internal teams where needed
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities

Territory Planning and Market Insight

  • Plan and manage a structured visit schedule to make the best use of time and travel
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends, and feed back insights to management
  • Analyse territory performance and develop plans to close gaps and capture opportunities

Reporting and Administration

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of customer activity, pipeline and forecasts
  • Submit sales reports, forecasts and expenses on time
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, trade shows and events as required

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven track record in a field sales or business development role
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, target-driven and able to work independently
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the territory
