Area Service Manager – North Region (Highland)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Area Service Manager within the North Region (Highland) of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Based at Regional Headquarters, Inverness, the successful candidate will become a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centered services across Highland.
About the Role
As an Area Service Manager, you will provide frontline operational leadership and management across a geographical area, supporting operational performance, workforce development, staff governance, financial management and service improvement. You will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and play a significant role in delivering regional and national priorities. The post holder will also participate in Highland On-Call arrangements and provide Operational and Tactical level Command at operational incidents as required.
Key Requirements
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex operational environment. You should have experience of leading teams, managing performance, building effective partnerships and delivering service improvement. Experience of project management, change management and stakeholder engagement would be advantageous. Achievement of, or working towards, a recognised management qualification is desirable.

You must be committed to improving quality and standards of care, supporting staff wellbeing and promoting a positive culture. Strong IT skills and a current driving licence with categories B and C1 are essential.
